The DISTO X4 is part of the X series of distance meters from Leica Geosystems and is designed for bright outdoor environments. Robust and waterproof, with a solid rubber housing, it has been drop tested to 2m.  Leica's free Apps combine with Bluetooth capability, so it's easy to incorporate all your measurements into your digital workflow.
